H ay una cierta intención en general en mi trabajo, que tiene que ver con una idea de transfigurar estas imágenes, sacándolas del archivo y replanteando su contexto histórico. En la fuente están condenadas a ser prisioneras de su tiempo, de las circunstancias en las que fueron construidas. Todo ese mundo lo saco con la copia. El documento es un hecho del pasado, el dibujo es un hecho nuevo. Al transfigurar el documento, al dibujarlo, lo que me interesa es que se convierta en otra cosa, que se libere de su materialidad original y del orden institucional en el que está inscrito. Ya no es el periódico y eso me gusta. Al estar asociado a otras imágenes también se establece la igualdad iconográfica y se puede iniciar una suerte de discurso a través de las imágenes, que las va cuestionando en un proceso de reproducción y reordenamiento visual”. “There is a certain general intention in my work, which has to do with an idea of transfiguring these images, taking them out of the archive and restating its historical context.
