E l personaje observa lo que el artífice quiere, y el espectador de la obra contempla, siente y experimenta lo que el personaje observa al interior del cuadro. Así, se plantea un diálogo tripartito. Los personajes nos hacen partícipes de esta experiencia de lo inasible, sus espaldas nos invitan a entrar a la escena de silenciosa contemplación, sus siluetas -ensombrecidas por la luz del paisaje- enfatizan aún más la insignificancia humana frente a la naturaleza. El hombre es absorbido por ésta. En algunos casos nos transmite miedo, en otros, la vista es complaciente y llena al espectador de un sentimiento de melancolía y esperanza. Mi trabajo se centra en lo arquitectónico, en lo histórico y lo patrimonial, pero sobre todo en la observación y contemplación de la materia y de las formas, ya sean estas construidas por el hombre o por la naturaleza. En estos paisajes la persona funge de protagonista de la escena, aparentando que todo gira en torno a su medida. Sin embargo, es todo lo contrario; el personaje es tan sólo el pretexto que nos permite observar y descubrir, a través de sus ojos, la ubicuidad y plenitud de la naturaleza”. “The character observes what the author wants, and the spectator of the work contemplates, feels and experiences what the character observes in the painting. Thus, a three-party dialogue is established. The characters make us participants of this experience of what is elusive, their backs invite us to enter the scene of silent contemplation, its silhouettes –shadowed by the light of the landscape- emphasize human insignificance facing nature even further. Man is absorbed by it. In some cases it transmits us fear, in others, the sight is pleasing and fills the spectator with a feeling of melancholy and hope. My work centers on what is architectural, historical and patrimonial, but above all on observation and contemplation of matter and shapes, be they manmade or nature-made. In these landscapes the individual functions as protagonist of the scene, pretending that everything revolves in his measure. But it is all the opposite; the character is only the pretext that allows us to observe and discover, through his eyes, the ubiquity and plenitude of nature”.
