M i obra toca temas políticos y culturales, todos contemporáneos: género, ciudadanía, mestizaje y racismo. En mi trabajo analizo las estrategias coloniales en la creación del discurso racial y cómo, a través de diferentes imaginarios colectivos, éste se fue instalando en la sociedad latinoamericana. Analizo también el lenguaje y cómo se construyen las ideas sobre las jerarquías de género o la racialidad del mestizaje, como herramientas para establecer un orden jerárquico y así generar relaciones de poder. En el desarrollo de mi obra y su recorrido interdisciplinario, los textos y la palabra han tenido un lugar relevante, no sólo por la importancia del concepto y un desarrollo discursivo al plantear sus ideas y finalidades, sino por la importancia del lenguaje como medio para comunicarme con el espectador, directa o indirectamente. Los títulos de mis obras, así como los textos incluidos en ciertas piezas, han hecho que mi lenguaje artístico no se encuentre sólo en la imagen. En las últimas series he desarrollado la implicancia de la palabra y la poética en mi discurso visual. Éstas se han complementado con el lenguaje como fin y medio de mi propio discurso”. “My work touches on political and cultural issues, all of them contemporary: gender, citizenship, miscegenation and racism. In my work I analyze the colonial strategies in the on the install itself in Latin American society. I also analyze language and how the ideas on gender hierarchy and the raceness of miscegenation, as tools to establish a hierarchical order and in that way generate relations of power. In the development of my work and its interdisciplinary tour, texts and words have had a relevant position, not only because of the importance of the concept and a discursive development when stating its ideas or purposes, but because of the importance of language as a means of communicating with the spectator, directly or indirectly. The titles in my work, as the texts included in certain pieces have made my artistic language not only reside in an image. In the latest series I have taken on the implication of words and the poetics of my visual discourse. These have complemented with language as a purpose and means of my own discourse”.
